Changing Seasons

September 29, 2020, 2:36 p.m.

Outside my window trees are tossing down their crimson, golden and blaze orange leaves, unfurling a vibrant welcome mat for the changing season. The newly cool autumn breeze brings along a sense of change.

Do you feel it?

Not just a shift in the weather, but a shift in the season.

I don’t know about you, but I’m ready.

2020 has been a sea-zuhn, am I right? I would love to put up my Christmas tree, flip the calendar to 2021, and put it all in my rearview. I honestly can’t tell you exactly when we will put all of this behind us. But one thing I’m certain of…we will eventually leave it behind.

I’m choosing to see the cooler breeze and falling leaves as God’s kind reminder that nothing lasts forever. No season. No event. No sadness. No pandemic.

Maybe you need to hear this today. Life will not always look this way. Your life will not always look this way.

We have hope for better days ahead when we choose to focus on Jesus.

Here’s a verse that’s encouraging me right now. I pray it does the same for you:

…I totally trust you to rescue me

one more time,

so that I can see once again how good

you are while I’m still alive!

Here’s what I’ve learned through it

all:

Don’t give up; don’t be impatient;

be entwined as one with the Lord.

Be brave and courageous, and never

lose hope.

Yes, keep on waiting—for he will never

disappoint you!

Psalm 27:13-14 TPT

If you feel disappointed right now, hang on. He’s not done yet. Be brave and courageous dear friend! Don’t lose heart or hope! We will yet see the Lord work good from this season.
